Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the merits of football scholarship in his family with the benefits of community service. The first is his relatives. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. He and his wife raised nine children in a Eufala farm. The second football was that he is the youngest of three brothers to play for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the most effective lineman in the US. He won two championships and the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as the Oklahoma's starting linebacker. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975 and designated an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon obtained his master's degree in educational studies. Lee Roy's fourth service was ten-hours per week of volunteer time in the college. He settled down in Tampa following college. He was a member of the Buccaneers for nine seasons and made three times all-pro. His career in business began. The first position he held was a Account Relations Officer with First Florida Bank, Tampa. He was a member on the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no surprise that Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated him as one of the 10 most notable young men across the nation. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in size and weighed in at 256 pounds as a college player he was captain of the team in 1975. In 1993 he joined the University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988 the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded the Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor who presented this award.
